Restructuring a construction quality platform for the US market
SiteAware’s platform was working and selling, but it sat on an old front-end framework with no solid design system, and the UX and UI needed a refresh. I joined to guide, design and prioritize the rebuild with the product, design and front-end teams.
Product design and strategy, contract. I worked alongside the in-house designer, the front-end team and product, and owned what got built first.

Where it started
A product that already had paying US clients and a lot of screens. The front end was due for a framework change anyway, which opened the door to fixing the foundations, not just the surface.
What I did

Guided the move to Ant Design and React
I researched and guided the transition to Ant Design on React with the front-end team. One component library for design and code, so every screen we redesigned shipped on the same foundations.

Established the design system
Set up the design system on top of Ant Design and refined it through the project, as real screens pushed back on it. Tokens, components and patterns the team still builds with.

Redesigned the core screens
Restructured the platform’s core screens and dashboards with the new system: verification data, project views, portfolio analytics. Denser where the work is dense, calmer where a manager needs an answer fast.
Live in production since 2023
Shipped to US clients on the new framework and design system.
The whole platform was rebuilt and released in waves as the front end moved over, the first screens in 2023. Its design system and the React front end still serve SiteAware’s US clients.
